Marble

Marble is a 100% natural stone, shaped over millions of years under immense pressure and heat. Each piece is unique, with individual veining, crystallisation, and tonal variations that bring natural depth and character. These irregularities are part of marble’s charm and not defects. As a porous limestone, marble is both timeless and delicate, requiring attentive care to maintain its surface and preserve its beauty. With thoughtful care, marble will age gracefully, developing a unique patina that reflects its natural origins and the life lived around it.

Everyday cleaning

For daily cleaning, use a soft microfibre cloth wrung in warm water. If needed, add a mild, pH-neutral soap specifically intended for natural stone. Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners, as they will etch or dull the surface. Always wipe spills immediately, especially wine, coffee, tea, fruit juice, and other acidic liquids, to prevent permanent stains.

Stain removal and ongoing care

To protect the surface, marble should be treated periodically with an impregnating stone sealer. This reduces absorbency and provides some protection against staining, though care is always required. Wet objects such as vases and glasses can leave marks, so we recommend using trays, coasters, and trivets. For stain removal, use only cleaning products formulated for marble and follow the instructions carefully.
